About Me

I am a life-long Arnprior resident (nee Cloutier), a member of council for the last 12 years, and a champion and advocate in the community for more than 30 years. I was honoured to receive the “Arnprior Town Award” this year—the highest honour given by our community, for my service on council, and the thousands of hours of volunteering for numerous groups and organizations over the years.

A positive ambassador for our town, I bring experience, dedication, strong ethical principles, honesty, and a hard-working commitment to the community. Someone reminded me once that “if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem”. I am proud to have been a key part of solutions, a strong team player, helping to advance Council’s agenda, with integrity and respect for all.

I AM A PHONE CALL AWAY!  As you Councillor, I am always open to your ideas and suggestions, and your concerns.  I look forward to your call, let’s talk!

Top Priorities

Develop Our Waterfront

We are the town “Where the Rivers Meet”, and we can be doing more to capitalize on this beauty and convenience.  The Waterfront Master Plan is completed, it is time to take action.  Establishing a true marina, with a restaurant and shops creates the water front that will open the doors to greater tourism possibilities, not just for boaters, but helping Arnprior to evolve into a “destination”, bringing with it many economic benefits.  Exploring partnerships with private sector businesses, leasing the land and encouraging development on our waterfronts means that we could reap the benefits without the capital expenditures.

Affordable/Attainable Housing

With the unprecedented growth we have experienced these past several years, and the rate of inflation and cost of living, we are in a housing crisis.  Which then trickles to other services, like the foodbank that is experiencing an increase in use.  We need to look to the province for assistance in more Affordable/Attainable Housing.  We need to help developers cut through the “red tape” of government subsidies and grants to help us make sure there are housing options for all levels of income. I feel strongly that if residents have affordable housing, the rest of their needs would be easier met.  It should never be one or the other.

Continued Spending Controls

As part of a Council that has aggressively put spending controls into place over these past years, I would aim to uphold that practice of a sound ‘pay as you go” financial management principals and strategies that have been implemented, and provide a strong commitment to capital renewal programs.

Other Issues

  • Continued emphasis on Road Rehabilitation.
  • Explore the possibility of extending recycling programs and make sound decisions for the future of our landfill site and waste management.
  • Continue to meet the needs of our growing community while implementing the action items outline in both the Recreation and Fire Master Plans.

I am very pleased to endorse Lynn Grinstead for the Arnprior Council.  I accept and support her decision, and believe she will continue to contribute positively while representing the community and town of Arnprior.

As lifelong residents of Arnprior, Lynn and I walked the same streets during elementary and secondary school. Now, she is a very strong supportive local business woman, and always has the best interests of her town at heart.  Lynn is reliable, takes pride in her town, and has been very active councillor for the past 12 years.
